A couple of years of change, hard work and recognition at Moshi

From local business and chapter recognition to four national and international website wins, a reflection on collaboration, resilience and helping businesses move confidently into the AI era.
Every now and then, it is worth stopping long enough to look back. The past couple of years have been a lot. If you run a small business, there is a fair chance you know what I mean. Finding our feet after COVID, keeping the work moving and now getting our heads around the possibilities of AI. Plenty to keep us occupied.
Along the way, there have also been some moments that made us stop and think: well, that is pretty special. Looking back at them now, what stays with me is the people. Clients who trust us, friends who lend a hand and a business community that keeps showing up for one another.
Three finalist categories, two runner-up results and a personal honour
At the 2025 South West Business Excellence Awards run by BSW Connect, Moshi was a finalist in three business categories: Micro Business, Professional Services and Community Contribution. We finished runner-up in both Micro Business and Professional Services.
I also received the BSW Connect Star Business Person of the Year award. That one meant a lot. Running a small business asks plenty of you, and there are a lot of people whose encouragement, trust and support sit behind a moment like that.
Being recognised by our own business community meant a great deal. These are the people and organisations we work with, learn from and want to see succeed.
Supporting our business community
During my presidency of BNI Referral Leaders Bunbury, I helped guide a period of substantial change within the chapter. Together, the chapter’s members and leadership team achieved four wins and one runner-up at regional BNI awards.
It was a shared community achievement, and a reminder of what business owners can accomplish when they show up for one another.
Four website wins in a remarkable few days
In 2026, our work for ARQÉ Global won two categories at the Australian Web Awards: Retail & eCommerce and Shopify.
Two days later, the same project received two international wins at the Web Excellence Awards, in Beauty and eCommerce. Four wins across national and international awards programmes made those few days particularly memorable.
I was chuffed, and perhaps still taking it all in. Jean-Marc Alophon of Bump Digital brought his specialist Shopify skills, I shaped the design and user interface, and Bailey was the glue that kept the project moving for Craig and Cahleen at ARQÉ. A shared achievement, and a group of people I am very grateful to have worked with.
A local awards programme close to our hearts
More recently, we were proud to be recognised as finalists at this year’s Bunbury Geographe Business Excellence Awards.
This one is close to our hearts. We helped develop the awards brand and continue to support the website each year. Getting to contribute to a platform that celebrates our local business community is something we value. Finding ourselves among the finalists made it all the more special.
The awards are run by the Bunbury Geographe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with whom we have built a strong professional relationship over approximately five years. During that time our work has spanned branding, websites, marketing, advocacy, workshops and consulting.
We have seen the value of the Chamber through that relationship, and we are strong believers in what it offers. Having people in your corner, a place to connect and a voice in the conversations that affect your business matters. We are glad to play a small part in that.
Collaboration over competition
There is a simple belief underneath all of this: collaboration over competition. We want to help raise the standard, share what we know and see the businesses around us do well. And being based in the South West should never put a limit on what any of us can become.
Awards give us a chance to acknowledge the effort. The ongoing purpose is to create work that helps our clients: a clearer brand, a more useful website, stronger communication or a better way to get things done.
Helping businesses move confidently into the AI era
Which brings us to what comes next. There is a lot to get our heads around with AI, and a lot to be curious about. We are ready to help businesses explore it with confidence, starting with a conversation about what would actually make their working day better.
That might mean reducing repetitive administration, improving how information moves through a business, supporting content planning or giving a team more room to focus on its customers. The right approach will depend on the people, processes and ambitions of each business.
We want to bring the same approach we have always valued: listen properly, ask questions, work with good people and build something useful. There is real opportunity here to help businesses find a little more breathing room and explore what they could become.
To our clients, collaborators, chapter members, the Chamber and everyone who has backed us along the way: thank you. We are grateful to be doing this work, in this community, with you. A little proud of how far we have come, and quietly excited about where we are headed.
